"Regional is the new organic," one says when buying food. The situation is similar when it comes to holidays. Instead of making long-distance trips, many people are drawn to the most beautiful regions of their own country. Why not? Why not even go on holiday in your own country?
Akkus reload, adventure expierience
In one of the most famous side valleys of the Inn Valley, the Zillertal, the holiday becomes a varied experience. The colourful autumn is the ideal season for sporting activities. It seems that Mother Nature is making a special effort to seduce our senses in the autumn. It is a wonderful sight, cows, who graze healthy herbs on still juicy green meadows, trees, in the beautiful warm autumnal sunlight and on the first snow, which has laid tenderly like icing sugar on the Zillertal peaks. But it is not only the fascinating scenery that makes the Zillertal a special place; it is the countless possibilities that let you immerse yourself in the adventure wonderland Zillertal - whether relaxed walks, themed hiking, biking, climbing, golf inging or just get to know the customs and culture of the region.
Discover the expolrer in yourself!
There is a lot to discover here in the Zillertal. For us, this time it was the Zillertaler Höhenstrasse and the Almgasthaus Zellbergstüberl. But Mr.Bag and I are not here to go on holiday. We want to push Lucinaslife forward. I have finally sold our large outdoor tent and so we can afford to take accommodation again. The choice has been made on the apartment Schweiberer in Zillertal, Fügen. Decided on a rest stop in our car and booked by immediate transfer.
The booking was made via Booking.com. Since we had booked very short-term, a phone call to the Schweiberer family followed immediately so that they are informed that we are coming. As so often, a big surprise on the part of the host family followed and we had to wait until the apartment was cleaned through, even though it had long since been available on the internet again. Check In is in this apartment from 14:00 - 22:00. The booking took place around 7 p.m. A tragedy, but what should we do? Completely exhausted from the day, we look for a McCafé nearby and spend the 3 hours there until cleaning. Such a situation always causes a bad taste and it always depends on how the landlord reacts. However, the fewest are really prepared for something like this and choose the right sentences, which additionally avoids the mood.
Down-to-earth, family-run apartment Schweiberer
After 3 hours in the McCafé we finally drive towards the apartment. As we wander around in the dark with the car and search for the address, we hear a voice from another car that had stopped next to us: "Are you looking for the apartment Schweiberer by chance?" That was Mr. Schweiberer and his two children. What luck, now we just need to follow them. We can't have a better navigation system. The spontaneous small talk significantly defuses the situation. Barbara Schweiberer, the landlady and the pleasantly clean apartment, masters the rest. The whole family is very nice, hard-working, courteous and down-to-earth. One likes to forgive a small mistake.
Now it's time to finally arrive, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. But before that comes the tour of the apartment. This will now be our home and office for the next 5 days.
Through the walkway over the stairs you reach the apartment on the first floor. On the staircase are shelves for shoes. If you open the door of the apartment, you are directly in the open kitchen. At first glance I can describe this apartment as down-to-earth, simple, clean and cozy. Green is the colour that harmonizes throughout the apartment. This colour I personally find very pleasant and a good choice for holidaymakers, as it is soothing and fresh, symbolising nature, health and hope.
In the kitchen hangs a modern Jesus sculpture, in the kitchen cupboards there is older, rural crockery, in the living room hangs an Image of Africa, the African figure of a wooden elephant is placed in a window next to the Image of Africa, a poppy flower picture hangs above the TV and an egg-framed Zillertal advertisement as an image still hangs on the side of the living room. This mix of things creates a break in the overall harmony for me. But this is only my personal feeling. On the other hand, it is meticulously clean in the apartment. You have to leave the apartment Schweiberer real.
There is something in the air
When we entered our new short-term home with Barbara, the first thing I noticed was this feel-good scent in the apartment, not only the freshness of cleaning, but also the pleasant scent of wood, grass, vanilla and a little of incense. It is pine scent. I love it when you enter a room and it smells pleasant. Every good fragrance conjures up a good atmosphere. In this case Barbara did very well. She skillfully placed a fragrance atomizer in the apartment, which positively stimulates our sense of smell and thus also our mood. In our case even very cheap, Mr.Bag and I love pine scent.
Let's get together in what I think is the best equipped holiday kitchen. A feeling of arrival, warm welcome and little luxury conveys every accommodation that provides coffee and tea for its guests upon arrival. The radiance in Mr.Bag's eyes when he discovers coffee and coffee tabs for the coffee machines is indescribable. For him, everything else is unimportant, the most important thing about the whole property is always coffee. For him, coffee overshadows any accommodation mistakes. Often it is the little attentions of the host, so that one feels really welcome. Pepper, salt and sugar are also there - great. If I had to complain about anything, it was the choice of knives. A good bread knife would round off the kitchen equipment even more super. In the kitchen cupboards, I also find a dish, which makes my heart beat faster, cut off from very well-solved waste separation. I love rural motifs. When I saw this white-blue goose dish, I knew I was going to give Barbara a gift. I still have milk and sugar vessels exactly in the same style, i.e. these two things will be able to decorate the guest table in the future ;-)
From the kitchen we come to a small cloakroom where we find an iron and a broom. From the cloakroom, a door leads to the bathroom and the second door leads to the quiet bedroom. It is also very clean in the bath bucket. The bathroom cupboard offers enough space for guest hygiene items. In the lower part of the bathroom cabinet we find enough fresh (also colour-coordinated green) towels, shower towels and a hair dryer. A cosmetic bucket next to the bathroom cabinet and an additional towel radiator complete the bathroom. There is plenty of toilet paper and a pleasant gel air freshener. The shower is also meticulously clean. Completely sufficient for a holiday week to make you feel comfortable. It doesn't always have to be a bathtub ;-)
The bedroom is very simple. An older but well stable, model of bed. Personally, I do not find these beds particularly pleasant, because I often hit my head on the headparts of such beds. In our opinion, the mattresses could be more comfortable - but this is always a matter of taste and therefore not tragic. There are really worse things. (I have seen the bed has already been etched with a beautiful new, solid wooden bed) . The bedroom cupboard is very spacious and well divided, so that you can accommodate all your belongings well. You can hang clothes, as well as store things well in compartments or drawers. Hidden in the bedroom closet, even a safe provides sufficient security if you should bring expensive jewelry. Next to the wardrobe there are also coat hooks on which you can hang the clothes worn every day. This is a very fine thing that most holiday rental landlords forget.
Now we come to the (for us) highlight of the apartment, the balcony, which is located above the house entrance. If an apartment has terrace or balcony, it is always a gift. Mr.Bag and I enjoy the freshly brewed coffee in the fresh air.
The balcony is equipped with everything you need. Chairs with upholstery, parasol and a table are provided. We find the gravel floor-like flooring totally cool - we haven't seen anything like it yet. Really very beautifully made. From the balcony we see the beautiful pilgrimage church to St. Pankratius. This adorns the Pankrazberg in Fügen. It would be a nice sight and even more beautiful for us if there were no neighboring houses - but we know this is just pure wishful thinking of us. The apartment Schweiberer is well equipped with blinds, so that you can protect yourself from the prying eyes of the neighbors in the evening.
Barbara and her daughter planted the pretty flower garden this year. These stripes of flowers immediately enchanted me. He looks fairytale and delights the eye every time I look at the balcony or out of the window. Even on the way to the car at the door, you can't miss the simmering effect of the flower garden, now in late October! If you sit on the balcony for a longer time and behave quietly, you can, with a little luck, see the house hare Mogli and the hens of the house. This is certainly great, especially for families with children. By the way, in the cupboard under the huge Fehrnseher I found a lot of children's games in addition to cuddly blankets.
Authentic hospitality, honest cordiality
"We are a family that cares very much for our guests." Wrote family Schweiberer while introducing their apartment to Booking.com. And I and Mr.Bag can sign this sentence in their entirety. We have not experienced such an authentic hospitality and effort for the guest as with the Schweiberer family for a long time. We thought such hosts were most likely extinct. Every day the whole Schweiberer family convinced us of the opposite. Be it the cheerful, natural landlady Barbara with her open, friendly husband or the polite and playful children. Here one still lives a sincere "human-human relationship" by actually being interested in the guest and trying.
There are always casual, spontaneous and very pleasant conversations. That is why we also know that the family is very talented in music and is connected to nature. You can get a lot of tips from the family. Mr. Bag and I were even invited to a Schnapserl in the evening, but unfortunately I had to finish another project urgently and so we could not accept the invitation. We would like to apologise once again for this.
At the farewell of the Schweiberer family we received an original home-fired brandy, a candy and a heartfelt thank you for being guests and for the complementary goose dishes.
In this way we would like to thank you once again for the good, personal support. That's what made our stay with you so beautiful. We can highly recommend you with your heart. We are very happy to come back are already curious how everything will develop with you.

We received a guest card for Fügen, Kaltenbach on arrival. The advantages of the guest card are not worth the speech. A very weak performance that is offered, especially if we compare what everything e.B. the guest card Lungau has to offer. We are now talking about the summer guest card - but we were here in the autumn. Many companies from the summer offer are no longer possible.
Here is a list of our costs from October 2019.
