The bourgeois aunt style from the seventies (you just mix what doesn't belong together) has arrived today. I read this an hour ago in a magazine about fashion.
Charming House Maria
Retro - Glam and bourgeoisaunt style. This was the first thing I thought of when our hostess Mrs. Maria Fuchs led us through her apartment with pleasant size in Seekirchen am Wallersee. The mix of styles you will find throughout the apartment is a bit modern, a bit like it used to be in the nineties. According to this magazine, in which I read it, this hostess goes full with the times, simply breaks the conventional furnishing clichés and relies on this "wild mix".
We don't think much of clichés, because for us the most important thing is that you just feel comfortable and welcome. And here it definitely breathes with a pleasant, homely atmosphere... a successful combination of OLD and NEW.
Description: Ground floor apartment House Maria
Oh, what colours!
I think you already know why my headline affectionately called Shades of green. I thought so beautifully and refreshingly when I saw the color code green in the kitchen in the house Maria. Quite different from the usual "zero-eight-fifteen" white kitchens in other apartments. I love it when an apartment has something special to offer. Here it is a cozy country house kitchen in the refreshing pastel green. A kitchen thrives on its design, that's clear. But since it can't always be just about appearance, the inner values must also be right! Let's see together what this romantic-pamini-like kitchen has to offer its guests.
A few nice nostalgic things make me particularly sympathetic to the kitchen of Haus Maria like .B. the old porcelain teapot or the Chinese porcelain. Everything is necessary and the kitchen is very well equipped, even for a longer stay. Refrigerator, a small compartment, filter coffee maker, kettle, microwave, oven and stove with ceramic hobs. Enough dishes, bowls, plates and cups. Even power outlets near the hob. But no dishwasher, but a sink, suitable for hand washing. The kitchen has a hose shape, a small window through which enough light comes in during the day. On the other side of the kitchen hose is a small breakfast corner with two chairs and a small table - we did not use them. We don't like our own thing so much. We preferred the wonderful sun terrace and in bad weather the living-dining room.
Living - Eating room
I think it's wonderful that the individual areas are not separated by walls. So you can have a good conversation, whether you're having dinner or a DVD evening. This is very practical especially if you are a family with children on holiday here. The children can enjoy e.B. children's films in the evening while the adults talk over a glass of wine.
In a corner of this room is so promised the cozy "dining room", which is inspired by rattan chairs and the beautiful wooden table, slightly African. Here, in rainy weather in the early hours of the nineties, you can turn up the nineties radio and have a cosy breakfast while the kitchen chaos remains closed in the kitchen. The dining area and the terrace, which you can access through the open-plan living-dining room, are also easily accessible from the kitchen. You simply balance the trays and the filled plates to the desired position without having to squeeze past somewhere. The inviting couch and the TV in the other corner of this room are also cleverly set up. The seating is under a small window and the fenseher lying opposite is also protected during the day by the installed blinds, well protected from light. This does not cause unfavorable aperture effects or reflections. The additional small, white table in this room I used for our PC. So I had the opportunity to use an "office".
The bedroom
Through the living room you can enter the bedroom through a sliding glass door with plenty of storage space for clothes. In addition to the bed there are also two bedside tables with night lamps, which is pleasant, especially if you like to read a book in bed in the evening. And if you like to deal with mobile phones or tablets, you will find sockets besides the bed. A mirror, a clothes rack and additional blankets against the cold complete the bedroom.
The bath
The bathroom has a nice size and is also pleasantly warm. On our arrival it was also very clean and smelled good. I find the coat hooks quite class, where you can also hang your bathrobe. Fresh towels, clean, large enough and warm - everything fits wonderfully.
My personal Highlight
This apartment also includes a small covered terrace with a spacious very well-kept garden. For me, the optimal space to relax. Here you can really let your soul dangle and the flowery impressions not only make every gardener's heart beat faster! Sufficiently relax with a glass of good red wine, a cup of coffee, delicious breakfast or even a yoga class. There are opportunities for all this. The huge trampoline makes the garden in addition to a children's paradise. Even now in the later autumn, the garden does a lot of work. Shades of green, wherever the eye reaches. Mr. Bag and I spent most of their time on the terrace and in the garden.
A stone's throw to Salzburg
We booked the House of Maria in Seekirchen am Wallersee, because we completed a few courses in Salzburg. In Salzburg itself it was too expensive for us at that time, so we were looking for a cheaper, quieter alternative for a large enough apartment. We are very satisfied with our choice. House Maria is quiet and offers enough space. Seekirchen am Wallersee is a small, romantic and quiet town with a lake where you can also swim, hike or ride a fahhrad in summer. The distance from Salzburg was only 15 minutes by car, so the perfect solution for us. We are happy to come back.

Seenland Card
The Salzburg Lakeland is even easier to discover for all holders of the Seenland Card and, above all, even cheaper. Admission is discounted or even free of charge for many attractions and leisure facilities. Too bad, for whatever reason, we did not get the Seeland Card - just ask for it in the accommodation. It is valid during the stay from May to October.
House Maria – What we didn't like so much
In general, of course, you always learn from us what we didn't like so much and what wasn't quite so clean. For now, however, the positive: We booked this accommodation via the platform Booking.com. However, we would have to travel to Salzburg one day before booking. After consultation with the hostess Maria Fuchs, this was no problem and we were able to inhabit the apartment one day before our booked arrival - of course against payment, that goes without saying. Wonderful and uncomplicated. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed and the apartment was shown to us briefly. We felt very nice that Mrs Maria provided us with additional blankets so that we did not have too cold. Since we had booked very short-term, the apartment could not reach the desired temperature so quickly. The bathroom was pleasantly warm on our arrival. Unfortunately, the apartment has modeled a little on arrival, in front of all the bedroom. But this got better with the days. The apartment was clean, but in the kitchen cupboards we still found dirty dishes. Especially a salad bowl, which I had tried to clean - which was not so easy - something very greasy had already eaten itself directly into the artificial toff. The baking sheet was also an imposition. In this place, it might be advantageous to find such things as baking paper, aluminium foil and plastic wrap as soon as you arrive at the apartment. This is very pleasant for the guest and waiting for the host then not such unnecessary surprises.
Here is a list of our costs from September 2019
As already mentioned, we had booked 3 days over Booking.com and one day directly with Mrs. Fuchs.
Whether you would like to book via Booking.com or directly with Mrs. Maria Fuchs I will gladly leave you. Hopefully everyone knows that prices vary depending on the season. So that you can get a better picture of our time in the house Maria am Wallersee, here are some private insights into our life there: Here you will find the products with which we had embellished our time there. You don't have to spend a lot of money, even with small things you can make your business trip and stay in an accommodation pleasant. I like to try new things and like to surround myself with beautiful things. This is also reflected in every trip. I just like it nice and fine.
